Schwannoma, also known as neurinoma, is a benign nerve tumor that develops from the myelin sheath. Its symptoms depend on which nerve is affected by the growth. Schwannoma of the auditory nerve is the most common type.

Treatment of schwannoma in Heze is based on the latest achievements of modern medicine. Physicians here have vast experience, which allows them to take an individual approach to each patient and successfully use the newest techniques.

     Diagnostics

Schwannoma has symptoms similar to many other conditions. To establish an accurate diagnosis and determine the nature of the tumor, doctors in the city prescribe various diagnostic tests:

  • computed tomography (CT),
  • magnetic resonance imaging (MRI),
  • sonography,
  • electroneuromyography,
  • audiometry.

Treatment

The only way to cure schwannoma is to remove it. Physicians in Heze use two methods with equal success:

  1. surgical removal. This is a technically demanding method in which the tumor is excised to free the nerve. Microsurgical instruments are used to reduce the risk;
  2. radiosurgical removal. This is used for intracranial and spinal schwannomas. Tumor cells are destroyed by ionizing radiation.
